The Rameshwaram Cafe is run by a mechanical engineering graduate named Raghavendra Rao (the co-founder and CEO), who has 20 years of experience in the food industry. Along with Divya Raghavendra Rao, she is the co-owner and managing director. She is a chartered accountant with a postgraduate degree from IIM Ahmedabad. She comes with over 12 years of experience. As per the official website, their dream was to provide this original South Indian food to the world with fresh food and high-quality ingredients. They named the cafe The Rameshwaram Cafe because it is the birthplace of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, who is an aerospace scientist and former Indian president.
