Is all Buzz public?

No. Buzz can be either public or private. If a Buzz is public then it can be found in the Frengo Buzz directory and all messages are viewable online. In your My Frengo account a red icon will appear next to the Buzz name to indicate it is public. If a Buzz is private then it has closed circulation (determined by the publisher) and only people on that circulation can view messages online. Private Buzz can not be found in the Frengo Buzz directory. In your My Frengo account a lock icon will appear next to the Buzz name to indicate it is private.

Why does some Buzz have prizes?

Some Buzz may be competitive, such as answering quiz questions or predicting the outcomes of sports games. Frengo sponsors some competitive Buzz with points and sweepstakes prizes. This is simply our way of making the community more fun. If a Buzz has prizes you will see a small gold chest icon next to the Buzz name. Click the Buzz name to learn more about the specific prizes and eligibility.

What are Buzz rewards?

Buzz rewards range from small things like ringtones and gift cards to big things like computers and cameras. At Frengo, we reward our community for buzzing. This means doing things like entering Buzz competitions, creating your own Buzz and having followers or inviting friends. Each activity earns you points that can be redeemed for prizes.

How do I redeem points?

Redeem points by visiting the Frengo Rewards Storefront. There you can see prizes and the required points to redeem for prizes.

Do Frengo points have cash value?

No, but you can redeem them at our store for cool stuff. For more details, please see Terms and Conditions.

What is a sweepstakes?

A sweepstakes is a standard promotion that companies use to get across information about a product. In the case of Frengo, a sweepstakes is a process whereby the customers get rewarded for playing our games. For more information see our Sweeps Terms and Conditions.

How will I know if I have won?

When a sweepstakes game ends, we choose a winner according to the rules of that game. You will be notified via text messaging if you have won.

How do I create my own Buzz?

You can create your own Buzz using Frengo's easy-to-use Create Buzz templates. Click on the Create Buzz link from the homepage to access the templates. You must be logged in to get there. The templates provide simple forms to create Shoutouts, Polls, Quizzes and Alerts.

What's the difference between a shoutout, a poll, a quiz and an alert?

A shoutout is a simple spur of the moment announcement - like a Facebook wallpost or a MySpace comment. You can make shoutouts public for all Frengo to see on the homepage Buzzboard or send them privately to friends. But you cannot schedule shoutouts or get them listed in the Frengo Buzz directory.

A poll is used for gathering group votes or opinion. It is a question where recipients are prompted to select from a fixed list of options. At the end of a poll, Frengo automatically tallies all results and sends the final outcome to participants. Polls can have up to 10 questions and five options per question. If polls are set to public they will be listed in the Frengo Buzz directory.

A quiz is used to test what people know. A quiz question provides recipients with a fixed list of options but there is a right and wrong answer. Participants will be informed after each question whether they were right or wrong. Quizzes can have up to 10 questions and five options per question. If quizzes are set to public they will be listed in the Frengo Buzz directory.

An alert is a short message, like a shoutout, but it can be scheduled and listed in the Frengo Buzz directory. Frengo users tend to use alerts for regular publishing themes like sports scores and horoscopes.

What does public mean?

When a Buzz is public it means: 1) the Buzz will be listed in the Frengo Buzz directory and anyone in the community can join; 2) anyone in the Frengo community can comment on the Buzz in the comments section; 3) all Buzz messages (including responses from Buzz followers) will be publicly viewable on the Frengo website. Making a Buzz public is the fastest way to grow your Buzz followership - which in turn earns you more points!

How do I get my Buzz in the Frengo Buzz directory?

Getting your Buzz put in the Buzz directory is easy. Simply set your Buzz to public. In the appropriate Create Buzz template click the "Who do you want to send this to?" link and select "Yes" when prompted "Make this public for everyone on Frengo?" To give people a better understanding of what your Buzz is about, click the "Pimp Your Buzz" link and provide a short description of your Buzz. You can also choose which directory tab to present your Buzz by selecting the appropriate tab in the "Tag your Buzz for the appropriate BuzzBoard" drop down list.

How do I keep my Buzz private?

To keep your Buzz private click on the "Who do you want to send this to?" link and select "No" when prompted "Make this public for everyone on Frengo?" Your Buzz will only be sent to the list of people you specify.

What is a keyword?

A keyword is a short alphanumeric code (e.g. PARTY07) that can be used by anyone to start a Buzz from their phone. People simply text the keyword to 44566 to automatically get content and subscribe to your Buzz. When you reserve a keyword with Frengo it is yours to use to start any Buzz you create Ð put it on your MySpace or Facebook page, print it on flyers or tell people word of mouth. Keywords must be a minimum of 6 characters and contain at least one number. You can get multiple keywords and change them from Buzz to Buzz whenever you want.
Keywords with Polls: Keywords linked to polls have an additional benefit. After completing the poll, if you send the keyword again you can get a real-time update on poll standings. Use it on the go to check your poll results before closing!
